Study of the history and various influences of geophysical processes and geo-active zones of the Earth on the surrounding area, including the human community, allowed to hypothesize that the main migration routes of ancient peoples on the continental hemisphere determines the direction of the diagonal transcontinental fault zones [1].
   Peoples of Indo-European community mastered lands of northern and central parts of the Eurasian continent, from England to the Altai territory intuitively settling in certain geophysical and tectonic characteristics. The majority of cities of ancient Russia and neighboring countries on the Russian platform morphostructural gravitate to sites and active faults. In 1897, a distance of 2.5 km from the nearest fault population 38.9% of the population and up to 10 km - 91.6%, in 1989 - respectively 43.8 and 87.1%. In the cities, the centers of which are located within 10 km from the active faults, is home to approximately 90% of the population. Intensity of urban growth near faults was twice higher than outside. The majority of cities within 12.5 km of the city center, this circle has one - two active faults. An increasing number of faults in a radius of less common [1].
   Perhaps zone of active faults or morphostructural nodes provide preconditions for the emergence and growth of cities, being a part of a variety of other conditions, including geophysical fields (electrostatic, magnetic, longitudinal electromagnetic waves, etc.), whose parameters depend on the activity of faults . So, physiographic characteristics obtained according to more than 400 ancient cities of the European part of Russia, indicate the dependence of the density of human settlement on the sign and the magnitude of the magnetic field of the Earth. The population is concentrated at distances up to 5 km from the zero contour magnetic field within the moderate (-3 to +3 milliersted) and negative magnetic anomalies. The average density of cities and urban population in the band contour zero anomalous magnetic field is several times higher than outside its borders, and the average for the territory. Proportion of settlement fairly stable: in 1897 and 1989. near zero negative magnetic anomaly contour population considered cities increased over 12 times in a century, and the band is zero gradient only 8 times. These data suggest, that the population is concentrated unconsciously wherever feels comfortable. [1]
